The North East LEP competes nationally to bring funding into the region. We are highly successful at doing this.

We manage a multi-million pound pot of money, which is used to deliver the Strategic Economic Plan priorities. To date we have delivered or secured more than £830m investment for the North East. This investment is made up of:

The 2014-2020 European Structural Investment Funds (ESIF) will inject more than £437m in to the North East. These funds are used to deliver both the European goals smart, sustainable and inclusive growth and support our Economic Plan.

The Local Growth Fund

Our £329.9m Local Growth Fund capital programme forms a key element of the North East Growth Deal negotiated and agreed with Government in July 2014, the fourth largest allocation made to a LEP area. Find out more about more here.


The North East Investment Fund

The North East Investment Fund is a Capital Loan Fund supporting projects that specifically encourage local economic growth and create jobs in our area. The recycling loan fund totals £55m and is a combination of £25m Growing Places funding and £30m Regional Growth Fund.
