Funding for Incubator Space

The North East Local Enterprise Partnership (North East LEP) is inviting Expressions of Interest from Incubator projects which match the strategic aspirations set out in the Strategic Economic Plan (SEP) and the innovation programme with significant potential to make a demonstrable contribution to the Incubator network within the region.

This call will be open until 30 November 2018 with Review Points at 31 August 2018 and 28 September 2018.  Submissions received by the Review Points will be considered after these dates with no guarantee that funding will be available for the full call period.

Expressions of Interest will be scored and assessed by the North East LEP, with a selection of projects invited to come forward with a HM Treasury Compliant Business Case.

Innovation Project Development Fund

The North East Local Enterprise Partnership (North East LEP) is inviting bids from early stage Innovation projects to come forward for development stage funding that will help to prepare Business Cases that can help deliver the ambition set out in our Strategic Economic Plan.

This call will be open until 30 November 2018, with a review point on the 31 July 2018 and 28 September 2018 for early submissions.

Projects that are able to demonstrate clear links to the SEP and key Government policy (such as the Industrial Strategy), and are anticipated to be over £5m in scale are encouraged to come forward. Funding available through this call is to support the costs of getting project Business Case ready – the funds are not for projects at implementation/build stage. Applicants should be able to identify potential funding routes such as public competitions (including Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund/Strength in Places funding), wider public funding or private sources.

We anticipate that the North East LEP funding will seek to support around 50% of the costs of the development of a project, up to £200,000 grant limit. While there is no lower limit attached to this, the eventual projects should be anticipated to be of a significant scale (i.e. of at least £5m capital build cost).
