Activity to support the ongoing development of the River Tyne through measures to mitigate environmental impacts of historic industrial activity.

This project is addressing the environmental impact of historical industrial activities on the River Tyne including preventing the leaching of tars into the River at Walker, Newcastle and mitigation works in the North Pennines tributaries to reduce heavy metals entering the River system.
