Two strategic regional business support programmes that include capital grants to SMEs in addition to business support.  Grant is available to assist SMEs with a desire to Scaleup their business or who are looking to diversify into new supply chain opportunities. Additional budget was added in 2020 to support health and social care supply chain opportunities during the pandemic. A phase 2 of the Scale Up Programme commenced in 2021 and will operate to 2023.

The overall aim of Scaleup North East and Supply Chain North East is to increase the success of existing and potential high-growth businesses in the North East Local Enterprise Partnership area by removing barriers to growth and supporting the creation and implementation of scalable business models.
