Refurbishment of TyneMet College’s STEM & Innovation Centre facilities.
The project has created a newly refurbished STEM (Science, Technology, and Engineering & Mathematics) & Innovation Centre in partnership with North Tyneside Council as a focus for skills development and pathways that support the economic regeneration of North Tyneside and the wider region.
It provides a base for STEM Assured© vocational training to support engineering and manufacturing industries operating from, and linked to, the River Tyne Enterprise Zone. Route ways between school, FE and HE are showcased linked to employer needs and allow for widely accessible and effective careers information advice and guidance to increase the demand for higher level skills pathways.
The IGNITE Centre for Engineering and Innovation opened at the end of 2015.
