Improved highway access to Enterprise Zone sites.

The Sunderland Low Carbon Zone scheme consists of two sections of new highway: Phase 1b – a new section to form a realigned part of the A1290 to the north of already constructed Phase 1A and Phase 2a – a single carriageway link which continues the through route from Phase 1A to Nissan Way.

As part of the scheme, Nissan Way will be upgraded to dual carriageway.
